As promised, here comes the Wednesday Download announcement…
Def Leppard have been confirmed as the third and final headliner and will head to Donnington with Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, The King Blues, Madina Lake, Disturbed, All That Remains, Frank Turner, Bowling For Soup, Turisas, Cheap Trick, Black Stone Cherry, Sacred Mother Tongue, Jameson Raid, Ghost and Straight Line Stitch.
This has certainly bolstered Download’s artillery! Tickets for the June 10-12 festival are available here.
Download have bettered their promise and announced FOUR bands instead of the three that were planned.
Down, Trash Talk, Twisted Sister and Duff Mckagen’s Loaded will be bringing the noise to Donnington in June.
A load more acts are to be revealed on Wednesday, so keep your ears and eyes open.
Tickets for Download 2011 are still available here.
The signature red cap returns
Limp Bizkit have been announced as one of nine new additions to the 2011 Sonisphere festival at Knebworth.
It’s a welcomed return for the US rockers who put on one hell of a show at the 2009 event. They will hit the stage before Slipknot on the saturday.
Also added to the line up are:
Gallows, The Sisters Of Mercy, Gojira, Protest The Hero, InMe, Kids In Glass Houses, One Minute Silence and Volbeat.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.
Architects, Weezer, Airbourne and Diamond Head have been added to Sonisphere’s UK leg.
The announcement comes just days after an avalanche of bands were revealed for Download last week, once again throwing fans into disarray as to which summer fest to choose (I would suggest both if you can afford it and if not, put your Grandma on Ebay).
Weezer were a massive hit at Reading and Leeds last year and will be sure to bring the same fun and games to Knebworth.
There are still tons of bands to be added, so watch this space!
Tickets for Sonisphere are available here.
Download has hit back at Sonisphere by adding 20 new bands to the 2011 line up including Korn, B4MV, Pendulum and more.
The announcment comes as a welcomed relief, as for a small while it looked like metal-heads worldwide would all be attempting to pitch up at Knebworth.
The full list that will join SOAD, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie and A7X is as follows:
Bullet For My Valentine
The Gaslight Anthem
The Damned Things
Escape The Fate
Rise To Remain
Black Veil Brides
Masters of Reality
With the third headline act is still to be announced some time in February, Download is certainly back in the game!
Tickets for June 10-12 Donnington Park festival are available here.
